Head of Smiles

My Story

I founded Viva Assist in 2007, after caring for an older relative – my Nan. She didn’t need care exactly, just someone to check in on her, keep her active and offer gentle support throughout the week to ensure she stayed safe in her own home.

In truth, I struggled to find that kind of support.

I was on hand of course, but with a young family and busy working life, I couldn’t be there as much as I would have liked.

I realised quickly just how little help there was for older people who wanted to remain independent, and how difficult it could be for family members to step into that support role when they have busy lives of their own.

So I decided to set up Viva Assist. I wanted to help older people, like my Nan, to preserve their independence and enjoyment of life, while also giving their families peace of mind, by providing caring and dependable companions for their relatives.

Over the years I have built up my team of day brighteners, and can safely say I would be happy to trust the care of my own family with any of my team members.
