Do you look after a family member?
But you’re finding it harder to balance a busy life and caring…
We can be there when you can’t
Ever feel guilty that you aren’t able to do more?
Like your aunt – you know she’d love a regular jaunt to the garden centre for a wander around the plants followed by a nice slice of cake and a cup of tea, but getting that sort of regular time off work each week would be an absolute nightmare.
Maybe you’ve seen that dad is starting to feel lonely now that mum has gone, but with a busy work load and family schedule, spending quality time together has to be relegated to weekends or school holidays.
Or perhaps you know that your uncle is struggling a bit after his fall, but you don’t live locally enough to be able to pop in every day and bring him his shopping or give the house a quick tidy.
You can see that they need some help. But time isn’t on your side.
With today’s busy lives filled with work, family and other commitments, it’s a situation that we can relate to.
And that’s where we come in.
Our team of day brighteners can be there when you can’t. From being that friendly face at the door to escorting them out for a day at the seaside or a local museum.
We get to know your relative inside out to find out what they love doing and what makes them smile, then we tailor our visits around that. And to keep you in the loop we’ll send you pictures and give regular updates after each of our visits, so you always know what’s happening and how things are going.
For you, knowing that someone is there, checking in regularly can make such a difference.
“We want to thank you all so much. Without your care and support me and John would not have been able to get through these last few months without any respite. Because we knew she was in safe hands and got to see her smiling! On the lovely photos you sent us, it reassured us greatly that she was having a great time! It helped us relax and we got to see our lovely 4 year old grandson together!
Through you lovely ladies looking after mum it allowed us to put our feet up, watch a movie together and order a takeaway and relax. Things we have not been able to do together for the last few years. What you all do is so important to families like me, John and Betty. You’re all worth your weight in gold. We really can’t thank you enough, you all are angels that came to help.”
“One truly amazing, kind and caring lady entered into my Mum’s world 18 months ago and it was the best decision I have ever made making that call to Viva Assist to arrange some companionship visits.
My mum, who has vascular dementia now sees Maddie as her friend and looks forward to, and enjoys her visits, whether it’s a bit of gardening, styling her hair, chatting over coffee or fetching some food shopping, nothing is too much trouble for Maddie and she definitely goes the extra mile to ensure my Mum is happy in her own home.
I would like to thank Maddie for all the care she provides and things she does for my mum to brighten up her world.”
